The Armenian Rugs Society, is a non-profit organization founded in Washington D.C., in 1980, dedicated to the identification, preservation, documentation, and dissemination of knowledge of the cultural contribution made by Armenian weavers and craftspeople to the rich and vibrant history of textile arts.

In the interest of preserving historically important Armenian rugs and textiles, the Society offers support of various types to museums in Armenia and throughout the world. Information gathered by the Society is disseminated by means of exhibitions, conferences, and publications both in the US and internationally, and is posted, here, on our website.

Anyone sharing an interest in the amazing world of Armenian woven arts traditions and their myriad manifestations, both ancient and modern, is cordially invited to be a part of the Armenian Rugs Society.

Armenian Rugs Society annual memberships are effective for the fiscal calendar year and members will receive a renewal notification, via e-mail, at the conclusion of each year.

Individual annual membership fees are $50.00 (US), annual family membership (two adults sharing the the same address) is $75.00 (US), and corporate annual memberships begin at $150.00 (US).

We welcome all to join the Society and upon receipt of membership fees, each new member will receive a letter of acknowledgment and thanks, an Armenian Rugs Society membership card, and timely notification of all Society activities, as well as our newsletter via e-mail.

The Armenian Rugs Society aims to foster a climate of inquiry, curiosity, and awareness among its members, and society at large, regarding the world of Armenian woven arts, in general, with a particular emphasis on preserving and nurturing a growing global awareness of Armenian rugs and sacred symbolism.
